MI-4n6 v2.0 (say: "MI-Forensics") is the second edition of a GNU/Linux-Software collection for forensic analysis. The CD is based on a Linux-Livesystem Knoppix 5.1.1 and conatins over 180 forensic, security, anti-security and anti-forensic tools. The new version also contains a lot of steganographic software. Ther is no installation on the harddrive necessary. By default the system is configured not to edit or create any files on the local hardrive. The automatic hardware detection supports a lot of plattforms and filesystems, so MI-4n6 can be used on almost every system. ❖ In order to work correctly some of these tools need root privilegdes (root password is mi-4n6) |
